If You Can Dream It

When Michael Woods looks back on the nearly decade since he co-founded Dream Builders 4 Equity (DB4E) with his partner Neal Richardson, he can’t help but feel a mix of awe, gratitude, and accomplishment. Since establishing the community development and youth empowerment organization in 2016, he and Richardson have seen DB4E transform from a vision of what could be for the city’s Hyde Park neighborhood and young residents into real-world progress that has resulted in everything from home improvements for the neighborhood’s seniors to vibrant careers and wealth-building successes for the program’s participants.
